Practicing Sustainability

Earth Day – April 22, 2021

More and more companies every day are practicing sustainability, looking to make impacts within their industries. International Food Products Corporation (IFPC) partners with our sister company, Green Field Solutions (GFS), to create sustainable food manufacturing facilities and processes for our products. GFS works to repurpose food manufacturing byproducts, such as whey and near-date milk, into nutritious ingredients for animal feed and pet food. By utilizing food loss from the food industry, GFS helps put nutrients back into the supply chain. Throughout the food system, we can all be doing our part to contribute to bettering the world.

Worldwide sustainability is being brought to focus by the United Nations (UN) through the issuance of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. The UN issued a challenge to the global community to reach 17 sustainability goals by 2030. By evaluating issues of poverty, hunger, education, and wellbeing, the UN realized it was a multifaceted problem that would require a team effort.

At IFPC, we want to be a part of the change to help address these problems and meet the goals set forth by the UN. Contributing specifically to the “good health and well-being” UN sustainable development goal we:

  • Provide vitamins to dairies and beverage manufacturers across the nation for the fortification of their products.
  • Supply premium chocolate dairy powders fortified with vitamins for schools all around the country helping ensure children are getting the nutrients they need.
  • Create numerous fun and delicious dairy powders developed by our in-house R&D team so kids and families can look forward to getting their daily Vitamin A and D in milk.

We are proud to say on this Earth Day, IFPC and GFS are practicing sustainability every day. How are you?
