In addition to a B.S. in Food Science and Human Nutrition and a M.B.A. in management and marketing, An’s notable job descriptions include Food Scientist – Givaudan (Sensory Effects); Food Technologist – Pinnacle Foods (Duncan Hines division), Associate Food Technologist and Quality Scientist – Dairy House®; and several positions within IFPC, including R&D Food Technologist, R&D Manager, Director of R&D, and Director of Food Science and Product Innovation. And she of course has a who’s who list of clients: Dean Foods, Ben and Jerry’s, Edy’s and Dreyer’s Ice Cream, Prairie Farms/Hiland, Trader Joes – the list goes on.

An also enjoys a very diverse personal life. She loves to travel and has been to 39 countries and counting. In fact, she has three kids, twins in preschool and one in elementary school; and they have traveled with An and her husband to 15 different countries.

In spite of all the accolades for their globe-trotting mother, what do they think of her? They think their mom is cool and they call her the “Cocoa Queen” because she knows everything about cocoa. And it’s true. She likes to analyze anything cocoa related, and she can tell the difference in taste, smell, color and texture of various types of cocoa. What other kids have a mom like that? No one. An is the best.
