Territory Sales Manager – Southeast U.S.

POSITION PURPOSE:

As a valuable member of the sales team, the Territory Sales Manager is essential to the growth of IFPC. This position’s role is to drive revenue by managing and growing business at existing accounts while actively prospecting and bringing on new customers in the territory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Grow business at existing IFPC Food and Beverage accounts in the territory
  • Design and execute a territory prospecting plan to drive business with new customers
  • Develop and implement a strategic Sales, Territory, and Account Management Plan
  • Develop written account plans for major prospects and existing customers
  • Identify new prospects, including national companies, and buying decisions in the territory
  • Regular in-person and virtual contact with customers and prospects in the territory
  • Consistent phone and email follow-up with customers and prospects
  • Survey existing accounts to grow sales of existing products and sell new technology
  • Maintain and update all sales activities in CRM, including Call Reports as necessary
  • Manage all pricing negotiations at assigned accounts
  • Develop and maintain a robust project pipeline
  • Understand and represent the entire IFPC product line, including distributed and manufactured items.
  • Develop relationships thoroughly from buyer to the president (includes R&D, warehouse, receiving, ops manager, and accts payable).
  • Work with designated Sales Support personnel to manage all general sales administrative duties as necessary.  Including, but not limited to:
    • Weekly Sales Reports
    • Stock Requests
    • Pricing
    • Contracts
    • Sales calls
    • Opportunities
    • Sample Requests
    • Other administrative reports

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Prior experience selling in a national/large/corporate account role
  • Previously worked in food ingredients distribution or supporting distribution customers for 3-5 years
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Understanding of continuous improvement
  • Technical/Functional knowledge of products sold in the food industry

REQUIRED TRAINING & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of selling experience in the food industry; experience in distribution preferred
