Purchasing Coordinator

POSITION PURPOSE
To perform a variety of purchasing department related functions including communication with vendors, placing purchase orders, supporting quality processes, processing monthly documentation and reports, reconciling various invoice discrepancies, and other tasks.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process purchase orders for byproduct vendors as needed
  • Process purchase orders to support all BU as needed
  • Process all drop shipments
  • Process intercompany transactions
  • Post received purchase orders
  • Monitor drop trailer availability for key accounts
  • Provide pricing to salespeople as needed on selected items
  • Monitor accumulation of unusable materials and sell material to approved outlets
  • Reconcile invoice discrepancies
  • Post month end intercompany transactions
  • Process and file documents to docuware system
  • Process month end vendor settlements
  • Support distribution of sustainability reporting
  • Support data conversations to information management platform
  • Support pricing tools as required
  • Support implementation of processes and systems
  • Additional tasks as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL LEVEL

  • 2-3 years of business experience
  • Strong communication & problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Data manipulation & mining experience. BI4, VBA, SQL preferred
  • ERP Purchasing system experience. Microsoft Dynamics preferred
  • Knowledge of Animal Nutrition/Agriculture preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical decision making skills & creative thinking

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EDUCATION

  • College Education Required – Bachelor’s degree in Business or Agriculture preferred
